Gairloch Boat Club

Work Party

Added on 24 March 2019

Today, Sunday 24th March, we wanted to prepare the Club's Safety Boats & Dinghies for the Sailing Season ahead.

The weather clearly had other ides; howling winds, sleet, then bright sunshine.

We managed to get the Safety Boats to the Pontoon in readiness for the Season's first sailing session on Sunday 31st March, weather permitting!

All the 17 helpers did fabulous work checking and preparing everything and were sustained by BBQ food including home made baking, thanks to Fiona, Janet and Carol. The Showers were given a good clean too, thanks to Dyllis & Jean..

The photos - in the gallery -  give some idea of the weather today with choppy waters.

2019 we plan Topper Race Coaching, Juniors Beginners, RYA Push The Boat Out which will include the Gairloch Skiff Club and EweCanoe Canoes and Kayaks, Annual Challenge Regatta and other courses.

We need to bring in Qualified Instructors as we haven't any ourselves although we do several very experienced sailors.

We also have a band of about 6 Juniors who continue to enjoy and develop their sailing skills.

Here's hoping for a season of great sailing with lots of other like-minded folk.
